BJJ Self-Defence For Women
Reclaim Your Power. Trust Your Intuition and Strength. Heal Through Movement.
Our Women’s Self-Defence class is now held every Tuesday at 4:30pm.
After the success of our monthly workshops we have decided to make this offering weekly. Because true somatic and self defence confidence is built through repetition, skill development, and embodied practice.
Our weekly class blends Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fundamentals with practical self-defence and nervous system awareness. You will learn effective, real-world techniques while also learning how to regulate under pressure, trust your instincts, and move with clarity and strength.
This is not fear-based training.
It is power-based training.
What We Practise
A core part of this class is working with one of the biggest barriers women face in self-defence: the instinct to prioritise other people’s comfort over our own safety.
Jiu Jitsu asks something radical of women — to take up space, apply pressure, and intentionally make another person uncomfortable when necessary.
For many women, this is the real edge.
We actively practise stepping beyond the inner people-pleaser, the healer, the one who softens first. In its place, we cultivate clarity, boundaries, and decisive action.
This isn’t about becoming aggressive.
It’s about becoming congruent.
You will learn to:
• Set and enforce clear physical boundaries
• Communicate clearly and advocate for your consent
• Use leverage and strategy over brute strength
• Stay present under pressure
• Apply force when required — without apology
Strength and tenderness are not opposites. But in this space, the inner warrioress is given room to lead.
And yes — we take the work seriously. But we also use humour and lightness to soften what can be a confronting topic. Power grows more sustainably when it’s allowed to feel human.
About Your Coaches
Reon Fisher
A black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with a decade of experience Reon’s commitment to women’s self-defence is not theoretical — it is lived.
In 2023, after hearing a woman scream during a home invasion at a neighbouring property, Reon intervened and apprehended the attacker using his Jiu Jitsu training. That experience deepened an already strong conviction: women deserve real skills, real confidence, and real capacity in their bodies.
Reon has long been passionate about women training seriously. He believes deeply in leverage over size, skill over force, and in teaching women how to confidently manage bodies much larger than their own when necessary.
On the mats, Reon is calm, precise, and ego-free. He holds a high technical standard while ensuring training remains respectful, empowering, and safe.
Amanda Jayne Fisher
Amanda has been practising Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for five years, and it has become an essential part of her personal practice as a healer.
With over 20 years of experience holding therapeutic and group spaces, Amanda brings a deep understanding of nervous system regulation, boundaries, and relational dynamics into the training environment. She watches people’s edges carefully — encouraging growth without overwhelm, challenge without shame, and co-regulation under pressure.
For Amanda, Jiu Jitsu is a powerful counterbalance to clinical work. On the mats, she intentionally practises applying pressure, stepping into discomfort, and modelling decisive action — demonstrating that strength and care can coexist.
Together, Reon and Amanda create a space that is technically strong, emotionally intelligent, and grounded in shared values. They have trained, taught, and grown alongside one another for nearly two decades — bringing partnership and lived experience into the way this class is held.

Why Train Weekly?
Because resilience is built through practice.
Through consistent training, you don’t just learn techniques — you change your relationship to your own power. You experience yourself taking space. Applying pressure. Speaking clearly. Acting decisively.
And over time, that changes how you move through the world.
Flexible Ways to Train
We understand that consistency can look different for women.
Family commitments, shifting work schedules, and the natural rhythms of the menstrual cycle all influence energy, strength, and capacity. We deeply respect that a traditional unlimited membership may not suit every season of life.
For women who need flexibility, we offer a 10-class pass that can be used at your own pace — allowing you to train when it genuinely works for you.
And for those who are ready to dive in more fully, we offer a Women’s Membership designed with sustainability in mind. This includes access to our red light sauna — supporting recovery, regulation, and the weeks when your body may benefit from restoration rather than rolling.
Strength is not built by overriding your body.
It’s built by listening to it — and training intelligently.
Whether you train weekly, intermittently, or intensively, there is a place for you here.
Join us every Tuesday at 4:30pm.
Step onto the mats. Build skill. Strengthen your boundaries. Become your own protector.
